LIBRARY GUIDES, RULES AND REGULATIONS

General guide to the Institute’s regulations relating to Library use. It is the responsibility of all users of Library facilities, whether members of staff, students or others, to become familiar with these rules and regulations.

Overdue Fine
  • Items that are returned after the due date are considered overdue.
  • Overdue materials fines is one thousand (1000) Tshs for each item per day.
Lost material fines
  • Lost materials must be replaced by similar or its latest cost with overdue fines
Theft/ Misuse of Library Resources
  • The theft or abuse of any library property / resources like books, journals, reports, etc, will be taken into consideration. Each case will be examined and matter will be reported to the library committee for decision.
Clearance Form
  • A librarian can clear student’s clearance form only after the student has no any library debt or has fully clearing his/her library debt.
Outsiders’ borrowers guide
  • An outsider (non-student or non-IPA staff) can avail of the library services after getting permission from a head of library Division and upon signing on the library log book. An outsider can borrow books for use only in the library.

About IPA Library
The IPA Library is a hub for academic excellence and research. Our library collection and facilities are designed to cater to the diverse needs of our students and faculty. Our library is operated by trained and qualified librarians, who perform technical and user services. The library mainly maintains Arts and Social Sciences, Business Management, Research Reports, Periodicals, Reference and Special Reserved collection.

Reference service

Our dedicated librarians are available to help you navigate resources, find relevant materials, and answer any questions you may have. Library users are encouraged to approach the staff in charge for advice and assistance in identification of relevant information resources available. Access a vast collection of e-books, e-journals, and databases from anywhere, at any time. Our e- resources provide a wealth of information to enhance your a study and research capabilities. IPA library has been subscribed to several databases under the Consortium of Tanzania University Library (COTUL) that gives access to thousands of e-books and full text e-journals.

  • User Training:

In order to enhance library user education, the library conducts formal orientation programmes for first year students at the beginning of each academic year. In addition, the library provides specific and systematic information literacy and systematic information literacy training twice or thrice in each semester. The sessions will focus on how to use the following Database: Institution Repository, subscribed databases, open access and online Public Access Catalogue.

  • Research papers & Dissertations:

IPA Library has established its Institutional repository that stands as a reservoir for both published and unpublished research papers conducted by the Institute staff, postgraduates and some final year undergraduates, conference proceeding, articles and other publication including policies and guidelines which have been prepared by the Institute. Thus, the library provides free and global access to these intellectual output produced by Institute staff.

  • Internet services:

Our library offers high-speed internet access to support your academic research and online learning needs. Enjoy unbroken connectivity in a comfortable and focused environment. The IP e-library room is equipped with several computers to enable students and staff accessing electronic information from various sources. Wireless connection is also available for those who have their own laptops as well as smart phones.
